It all started on a stormy, windy day at the end of November of the year 1995.... Previous I had designed and build many transistor things, and many speakersystems, but none did to me what I was looking for. So I was looking for something new to build, yes it's a hobby, and I simply can't just sit down and do nothing. A friend came up with schematics of a tube pre-amp. I'd heard several tube amps and liked them a lot, so after all the transistor things I had build, I decided to build one myself. What happened after that, you can find on these web pages......

The name MachMat dates from the early 1980's. At that time I always was playing with computers, and learned programming Z80 micro processor language directly after the Sinclair ZX81 came out on the market. I always marked my programms with the name MachMat, which stands for "Machinetaal Mattijs", in English "Machinecode Mattijs". Since the name goes with me a long time, I decided to keep it when I started this company.
