This pages lists my Electrolytic capacitors. They come in different versions:

• Normal Electrolytic capacitors. Electrolytic capacitors are a sort of very fast batteries. They use a chemical process to store the energy. This gives them very high capacitance in small volumes. Drawback is that it makes them slow. They are very nice for reducing hum and for big energy storage, but not very suitable for signal purposes, because their bandwith typically goes upto about maximum 10-20 kHz.
• For very good performance and sound in electrolytic capacitors I recommend the Low loss (LL) types, these capacitors have bigger bandwidth, resulting in better sound and power supply damping. They are made with close tolerances, can operate at higher temperatures (mostly 105 °C, ideal for tube amps), have longer life and sound very good. Some of the Philips Low loss als have a Q code (special quality), these capacitors are even bigger, better and faster.
• The Black Gate FK and K types sound very well as cathode decoupling capacitors for audio purposes. They do have a more warm sound than the Philips LL capacitors. A combination of these both types in different stages (not parallel) sounds very good.
• For voltages over 500V, we stock JJ Electronics capacitors.

TIP: When you power up electrolytic capacitors the first time (also new ones), please try to do it very slowly (with a capacitor former or with a variac). This will make the chemicals in the capacitor to be deposited very slowly on the plates, giving better internal structure, resulting in higher capacity, higher maximum voltage and longer life. Just powering up (like most people do) is no problem, but will possibly result in little less good properties.
