Building speakers, tube amps and utilities for tube amps should be easy, cheap and accessible. We are constantly in the progress of putting together DIY kits to make it simple and affordable for you! All kits are designed very flexible and can be used in a wide range of applications. Some kits (like amplifiers and speakers) can partly be compiled by yourself. You get the quality and configuration you want to have.

Optimized in sound
We do not aim to be cheapest, we aim to be best. The choice of the parts in our kits have been choosen for optimal sound. Before the kit is added to our product range, we do a lot of listening tests with different parts and different listeners. Other kits sometimes maybe seem cheaper, but after building them you still have to make upgrades with all additional costs, to get them as good as you really want. It is not necessary anymore with our kits, since we did this already!
Our parts, prices and service
We sell our kits for the price of the parts only, no extra charges. We only use good NOS parts, like Allen Bradley resistors, militairy paper/oil, silver/mica, and Black gate capacitors, etc, in the signal. Elsewhere we use the best available parts, like low ESR capacitors (mostly Philips Long life and Nichicon PR), film caps, Beyslag 1% metalfilm resistors, etc. We do not recommend to use different parts, the results will not be as good. All kits are based on printed circuits boards (PCBs) to make building them as simple as possible, and to guarantee the same constant high sound quality to every new user. Additional we offer an almost unlimited online support with out kits, we guide you through the building process. About the circuit boards
The DIY kits of Machmat are build on PCBs. For our amplifiers we do not use a standard configuration. Best way to build an amplifier is hardwired, point-to-point. Air is the best isolator and parts should be connected to each other directly. It is however difficult to assure a constant quality of our kits since everybody hardwires differently. Therefore we make circuit boards which are used as a sort of customised standoff, with the best configuration of each amplifier. The parts are mounted on top of the circuit board if possible directly to each other. The circuit board is used to keep the parts at the right place and from each other. This way we keep hardwiring point-to-point quality and make it easy to build our DIY kits. For power supply kits and less sensitive places in amplifiers we use normal through hole PCB's. All PCB's have text on the top side, to tell you where and how to mount the parts.
