Precision mil spec metal film resistor

When precision, very low noise and high stability is important, the RN-series of metal film resitors are a great choice. They sound very well for a metal film resistor, probably because of their low voltage- and controlled temperature coefficient. These resistors can be used to get a bit more bite in the sound (in place of an Allen Bradley composite resistor), and are a very good sounding replacement for tantalum resistors.

All these Metal film resistors are mil spec made (RNxx, mil-R-10509). There are also established reliability types (RNCxx, mil-R-55182). Both types are the same resistors. However, the factory checks the RNCxx resistors with greater care. According the militairy specifications both types feature very low noise, very low voltage coefficient, controlled temperature coefficient and excellent high frequency characteristics. Sometimes RN mil code also is called CMF or RLR.

Prices are per each resistor. 10 pieces or more of the same value give 15% reduction, 100 pieces or more give 40% reduction on the price. Of course this only counts when the resistors are available in those amounts. I will match the resistors free of charge, please ask when you need it! The resistors are made by different brands, like Vishay Dale, Vamistor, Sprague, IRC, Ward Leonard, ACI, MEF, CGW, Painton and MDC.

Values are note in the format XXXX (YYY, ZZ), where XXXX is the value, YYY is the temperature coeffecient in ppm/°C and ZZ is the precision of the resistor.
